Nico is, without exaggeration, one of the most mature teenagers I have ever met. I do not say that lightly. Time and again, I hear from fellow teachers and school leadership about the example he sets for other students. He naturally elevates the people around him through his professionalism, focus, accountability, and calm demeanor. He carries himself more like a young professional than a student his age.

I can confidently say that Nico is one of the most exceptional students I have encountered.
I lead the Aerial and Aqueous Robotics cluster, where students design, build, and experiment with drone and robotics systems. While I bring a background in mechanical engineering to the program, Nico arrived with years of independent drone-building experience and a level of technical expertise far beyond what is typical for a high school student.

Nico gives me real hope for the future. He is uniquely ambitious, creative, technically talented, and mature beyond his years.

I first met Nico through a colleague when he was about thirteen years old, while I was developing STEM classes for local middle and high school students, and Nico quickly proved to be far more than a student volunteer. He helped design activities, tested Raspberry Pi and Arduino systems, and contributed to a project that launched silly string remotely—exactly the kind of hands-on, creative engineering challenge that gets students excited about technology.
